Abstract:After the collapse of Soviet Union, there was a rise in both the total amount and per-capita amount of Russian resident’s monetary income; however, there was an unfair income distribution and the trend was likely to worsen. This can be verified by the income gap calculated by Gini coefficient and ten-equal-division partitioning method and income gaps among the federal districts. Russian federation government alleviates excessive gap problem through social policies such as establishing lowest subsistence standard, perfecting social security system, increasing educational investment, etc.
