Abstract: With Trump’s election to presidency, significant adjustments may happen to US domestic and foreign policies and, hopefully, the acrimonious Russia-US relations may tend to alleviate gradually. However, there are numerous conflicts for Russia-US strategic interests and it’s hard for both parties to concede substantially from the existing standpoints. In terms of issues relating to their own core interests and vital interests, both parties are reluctant to make substantial compromises. Russia-US conflict is a structural conflict and there is only a limited room for reconciliation and compromise. The best prospect can only be cooperation and rivalry, from all-out confrontation to a limited confrontation. Russia is China’s major strategic partner and US is China’s major strategic rival. Russia-US relations and China-Russia relations affect each other interactively and it’s impossible for the adjustments of Russia-US relations not to exert influences on China-Russia relations. For this, on the one hand, China should observe calmly and evaluate objectively; and on the other hand, China should maintain its strategic composure and be optimistic about the results. Meanwhile, China should make efforts to promote the improvement of Russia-US relations and deepen China-Russia relations.
